Designing the website - Determining what you want to achieve

DBsolutionz uses a structured Project Management methodology to ensure your project is a success. Depending on the size of your project DBsolutionz will provide resources and documentation to suit your needs.

A Project Scope document will be provided after an initial discussion, providing website aims, functionality, costs and design considerations.

A Website Needs Analysis is the basis for the development of a high performance website. The aim is to understand your business and exactly where your website fits in your marketing mix. Then identify your target website users and work out what they need from your web site. Your web site is designed to meet users requirements.

The Building Phase

Development will begin once the design has been finalized. Developer and designer skills include, Flash Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, HTML, XML, ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, Access and MS SQL database development. Development adheres to documented coding standards and all code is subject to a code review before release.

A private directory will be established for your new website on our testing server so that you may view the website development progress at any time and review progress.

Testing

The testing phase ensures your website is ready to be deployed to production. The testing phase includes User Acceptance Testing, HTML and CSS validation, broken links, cross browser compatibility, Meta data, page titles and descriptions. Once sign off has been achieved your development will be deployed to production.

After the website is live, any interactive programming and scripts are tested to verify proper function. Since the design and testing phase often occurs on a different server, it is very important to once again verify that everything is working correctly after taking the website live.

Costs

Custom development is charged on a time and materials basis as incurred throughout the life cycle of the project. A cost estimate will be provided at the beginning of your project in order to help you budget for your total development costs.
